Philippine's underground music scene is quite booming. As you go deeper, you'll realize the potential of these independent artists with passion and talent. As we celebrate the month of arts this February, let's meet one of the promising bands I listen to nowadays.
Derived from the Philippine Dialects Subanon and Chavacano, 'Tukar' meaning 'Sound', and 'Sinati', experience. Their music is best described as Original Pinoy Music fusion of hip-hop, rock, funk and jazz-- a real sound experience.
One of the uniqueness of Tukar Sinati is that they have different mediums. They have trumpet, electric guitar, bass guitar, acoustic guitar, drum set, percussion, AND TURNTABLES!!! Yeah! And they all have their own time to showcase their g*ddamn talent alone. They also have vocalists/rappers.
We saw them perform live at a bar in Quezon City, and amazingly almost everyone in the bar especially the people smoking and drinking outside decided to come in and rock with everyone. The venue was full during their set, and everyone seemed to be enjoying the real sound experience.
I swear you'll jive into the rhythm and melody of their songs, and you'll definitely love it. Here's their single Suntok. Listen and Enjoy!
