I started sketching or about two months now, and painting for like a month. I was so frustrated whenever I think that I am no good with this craft. I decided to relieve my hope and went to the Art capital of the Philippines, Angono in Rizal.
I started my journey at the front of the Rizal Provincial Capitol. I took a jeepney towards Crossing and get off at Tikling. I rode another jeepney going to Binangonan and get off at the front of Scrapyard Cafe.

My first plan is to go to the Angono Cave so I asked a local where can I wait for the shuttle. He told me to turn left after passing the Yamaha store, so I did. I saw the tent or the waiting area for the shuttle but there are no vehicles parked along the way. Then a post captured my attention. It is the rates for a museum tour. (Oh my effin G!) Then a very festive doorway welcoming me, as if they are inviting me to come closer and enter.

I took a risk and entered the place. Miss Tanya welcomed me and assisted me on the whole tour. She did a lecture about the Father of Imaginative Painting also known as Nemecio Miranda, or Nemiranda. She told me the story of the artist from his childhood up to the present life, how he struggled and survived. I was so amazed about the theme of Sir Nemiranda's creations, it is indeed very nationalistic, from the furniture, the ambiance and the artworks itself.

The Restaurant Area |
Nemiranda did a lot of paintings about Filipino mythological creatures like Tikbalang, Tiyanak and the likes. He is also into Parent-child tandem and Filipino Natives; Farmers, Fishermen and such. You'll notice the Filipino vibes not only in his artworks but in his wood carvings as well.

The wooden chair he made with carved symbols like in the petroglyphs. |
At the upper level of the gallery, most of the things that you can see is religious stuff that he made, he is a catholic, and yes, religious. While I was so amazed about his works, a man approached us asking what's going on. Miss Tanya suddenly said "Sir Nemi...". The whole world slowed down. It's him, the master in his flesh. (Oh my effin G!) I forgot to ask questions because of amusement that I am talking to the owner of such an amazing hands and mind. Then he insisted to take a souvenir photo.

The cool Nemiranda, break from his workstation. |
After the lecture and bonus meet-and-greet, I decided to take some alone-time in the gallery and photos as well. I'm gonna let you in.
